Abstract. In the article the features of emotive names in the Kabardian language are considered. Suffixes that facilitate the formation of these emotives are investigated and their semantic features are demonstrated. The paper identifies similar derivational elements typical of the formation of both grammatical classes. A certain connection is established between the morphological characteristics of names and the semantic classes of emotives.
