VALUE POTENTIAL AND MORAL DIRECTION OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF I. MURDOCH’S NOVEL "THE SEA, THE SEA")

Abstract. Within the framework of the cosmic consciousness approach phraseological units are represented in the study as structures that fix the highest human values. The article considers the main criteria of the analysis of phraseological units. An attempt is made to analyze value-semantic linguistic units - concept and metaphor - by the example of phraseological units from the work of the modern English writer I. Murdoch "The Sea, the Sea". The phraseological units from I. Murdoch’s work, representing the concept "truth", are considered. The conceptual, figurative and value components of the given concept are revealed. The analysis allows noting that the universal values are represented in the phraseological units of the work.
