Abstract. The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of international academic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region (APR) and Russia. The authors consider the central direction of international cooperation of different countries - cross-cultural educational exchange. The statistical analysis of the dynamics of foreign students’ entering universities of Russia and the Far East is carried out. The main problems and difficulties faced by students of Asia Pacific countries in the process of learning in a multicultural educational space of the host university are examined.
