CLASSIFICATION OF ENGLISH PREPOSITIONS AND KARACHAY-BALKAR POSTPOSITIONS

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the classification of English prepositions and Karachay-Balkar postpositions. Having analyzed modern English prepositions and Karachay-Balkar postpositions, their semantics and functions the author comes to the following conclusion: both English prepositions and Karachay-Balkar postpositions are widely used and serve to specify the conceptions of time, space and many other abstract conceptions, or they can generate new meaning not provided by declension system.
