Abstract. Socio-political newspaper "Asaba" serves as the research material; the author examines newspaper’s typological characteristics according to such criteria as socio-political orientation, target audience, the integrity of problematic and thematic areas, rubrication and thematic strata, the nature of information, its interpretation.
