Abstract. This article attempts to analyze the meanings of the lexeme ?? к?н = in the Khakass language. The paper analyzes 4 meanings represented in the Khakass-Russian dictionary: 1) the sun; 2) day, a part of 24 hours; 3) day, date of the month dedicated to a particular event; 4) weather. The material of the study is a continuous sampling of examples from literary and folklore texts of the Khakass language. The collected linguistic material proves that the analyzed lexeme, apart from its main meaning, is widely used as a part of free and stable word combinations.
