Abstract. This article examines the phenomenon of intertextuality in creating creolized texts in the Internet by the material of the English language. The goal of this study is to identify the characteristic features of the use of precedential sources in the contemporary Internet communication. In this study the author discusses the basic concepts related to humorous Internet communication, examines views of the phenomenon of intertextuality within the framework of domestic and foreign linguists’ theories, and analyzes the given examples in terms of the use of precedential sources.
