TEMPORAL CONTOUR OF SPONTANEOUS MONOLOGIC UTTERANCE IN COMPARISON WITH READING (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Filyasova Yuliya Anatol'evna, Shubin Andrei Vladimirovich
Saint Petersburg Mining University

Abstract. The article discusses the prosodic arrangement of the English spontaneous speech and reading, namely the temporal component, on the basis of similar language material. As a result of the perceptional and computer analysis it was found that discursive markers of hesitation, pauses and slowdown in pronouncing certain words and syntagmas, characterize spontaneous speech mainly at the initial and final stages of utterance generation. Filled (voiced) hesitation pauses have a longer duration compared to unfilled pauses and occur mainly at inter-syntagmatic boundaries.
Key words and phrases: фонетика спонтанной речи, темп речи, темпоральный контур высказывания, паузы хезитации, дискурсивные маркеры хезитации, синтагматическое членение, phonetics of spontaneous speech, tempo of speech, temporal contour of utterance, hesitation pauses, discursive markers of hesitation, syntagmatic division
