Abstract. Proverbs and sayings are an effective means of expressing the worldview of native speakers. This paper aims to examine the attitude of the Siberian Tatar ethnos to a man. Basing on the analysis of the texts of 472 proverbs and sayings the authors single out paroimias with the key lexeme indicating the animal world, parts of the human body, relatives; the examples from these three groups are discussed in detail. As a result, the paper determines the attitude of the Siberian Tatars to certain features of the nature and behaviour of a man, his place in the society.
