IMAGE STRUCTURE IN THE POEM BY N. GUMILYOV "THE WORD" AND ITS TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE TRANSLATION

Abstract. The article examines the structure of an artistic image of the poem by N. Gumilyev "The Word" and its verbal markers in the source text and target text. The author concludes that this image can be considered a symbol taking into account its multi-aspect nature and wide range of associative relations. The analysis of translations shows that the transformation of symbol’s verbal markers and neglecting their role in the figurative whole formation cause the substantial deformations of an artistic image.
