ETYMOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TATAR LEXEME МО? (SADNESS, MELODY)

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the lexeme мо? (sadness, sorrow, melancholy, grief, etc.), its etymological peculiarities in the Tatar linguistic worldview. The authors examine the dictionaries by R. G. Akhmetyanov, V. V. Radlov, and Ancient Turkic Dictionary. The paper focuses on studying the basic forms of lexeme мо? interpretations in the linguistic worldview. Etymological analysis indicates that the lexeme interpreted as emotional depression, anxiety, and nervousness refers to culture specific vocabulary of the Tatar language.
