NATIONAL MEDIA-MODELS AND MEDIA-THEORIES IN THE RUSSIAN AND FOREIGN RESEARCHES

Abstract. The author analyzes the Russian and foreign media-models and media-theories, identifies their common features, and mentions conceptual inconsistency, relevance for modernity and re-interpretation of outdated postulates. For the first time the paper systematizes the Russian and foreign media-models and media-theories (the results are presented in the form of a chart), introduces the definition of the notion "media-model", enumerates the factors influencing the formation of a specific national media-model and the factors motivating the change of media-models. The researcher also examines the Russian tendencies in the sphere of media-models providing the results of modern mass media studies.
