INTERTEXTUAL RELATIONS IN THE NOVEL BY JULIAN BARNES "ENGLAND, ENGLAND"

Abstract. The article examines the phenomenon of intertextuality in the context of linguistics. Special attention is paid to intertextual elements, their characteristics and functions in the novel by Julian Barnes "England, England". The study focuses on the specifics of author’s usage of intertextual elements in the novel and analyzes the types of intertextual relations which Julian Barnes establishes by these elements.
