THE ROLE OF DEVIANT-STRUCTURED CONSTRUCTIONS IN METAPHORIZATION PROCESS (BY THE MATERIAL OF DYLAN THOMAS’S POETRY)

Abstract. The article deals with the notion of lexico-semantic deviations through the analysis of the poetic language of Dylan Thomas (1914-1953). In the process of studying the works on this issue, the metalinguistic character of deviance phenomenon has been established and the important role of the linguistic form of poets’ creativity during the formation of individual author’s conceptual system has been revealed. It has been concluded that the deviant language innovations in D. Thomas’s poetic language are one of the most productive ways of metaphorization.
