SEMANTIC DOMINANT "AGGRESSION" IN THE AMERICAN MEDIA (BY THE MATERIAL OF POLITICAL PUBLICATIONS ON RUSSIA)

Abstract. The semantic dominant "aggression" is revealed and studied in the article on the basis of the semantic-stylistic analysis of the media texts. As a result of the analysis, the most typical speech means for the realization of the semantic dominant "aggression" in the American political publications about Russia are identified. Such means include basic nominations, words and phrases related to the lexical-semantic field "war", indirect nominations, comparisons, metaphors of the game, as well as verbal examples of historical evaluation and labeling.
