THE ROLE OF INTERROGATIVE UTTERANCES IN MODERN MASS-MEDIA DISCOURSE

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to consider the methods of using interrogative utterances in mass-media discourse. The characteristic of models for constructing interrogative utterances is presented. Their functional and stylistic focus is analyzed. The functions of interrogative utterances as headings of materials in mass-media discourse are described. Question-answer constructions strengthen the emotionality and expressiveness of the language, facilitate the explication of the author’s relationship, and help establish a dialogue with the recipients.
