Abstract. The article analyzes the linguistic means that form the image of US President Donald Trump in the American media. The relevance of the topic is conditioned by the fact that the media represent the mood of its political elite, form the attitude of society to various events in the world, in our case, to the election of Donald Trump to the US presidency. The study of the author’s interpretation of political events and the identification of the associated linguistic features of evaluative judgments in the formation of the image of Donald Trump are of special significance for philologists. Linguistic means of forming the image of the US President in the media are examined on the basis of the information-analytical articles of The New Yorker, one of the leading electronic periodical in the United States.
