TRADITIONAL BELIEFS OF THE MISHAR TATARS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY: SPIRITS-HOSTS OF THE MASTERED SPACE

Abstract. In this paper the ideas of the spirits-hosts of the mastered space in the tradition of the Mishar Tatars of the Drozhzhanovskii district of the Republic of Tatarstan are considered as a system of mythological characters and their functions. The mythological character in this case is understood as a bunch of functions, fastened with a name. In the course of the study the work reveals the nominations of the characters "the host of the house" and "the owner of the cattle-shed", their external appearance, place and time of their appearance, functions and actions of the person in relation to them. The author comes to the conclusion that for this local tradition the dismembered form of the spirits-hosts of the mastered space is typical, different from the general tradition of the Mishar Tatars, for whom the idea of the single host of the yard is inherent.
