SPECIFICITY OF IMPLEMENTING THE STRATEGY OF INFORMING ON CRIMINAL INCIDENT IN THE ENGLISH NEWS DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article describes the peculiarities of linguistic implementation of the strategy of informing on criminal incident in the news item published in British regional press. The author substantiates the importance of the term "media-representation" to discover the specificity of reliable and accurate representation of an event of a certain thematic affiliation, analyzes the verbal means to nominate the constituents of criminal incident in British regional press and identifies the key words indicating thematic affiliation of the texts to the column " Criminal incidents". Having analyzed the vocabulary of English news items the author developed cognitive and semantic model to represent criminal incident "Robbery" which justifies the existence of factological information strategy in the column " Criminal incidents".
