CONCEPTUAL STRUCTURE OF THE IMAGE OF POLITICIANS DURING THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE SPEECHES OF CANDIDATES FOR THE 2004 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION)

Abstract. The article analyzes the speeches of G. Bush and J. Kerry with the aim of defining the conceptual structure of the image of politicians in the 2004 pre-election political discourse. Conceptual dominants, socially significant roles and linguistic means of their realization are singled out. The key dominants are PATRIOT, STRONG MEN, MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC, GOOD MANAGER, SECURED AMERICA.
