Abstract. The article examines K. V. Trubnikov’s activity involving the publication of two business newspapers of the XIX century - newspaper "Zhurnal Dlya Aktsionerov" ("The Journal for Stockholders") (1857-1860) and "Birzhevye Vedomosti" ("The Stock-Exchange Gazette") (1861-1879); a brief description of these periodicals is provided. K. V. Trubnikov’s personality and "Birzhevye Vedomosti" had already attracted scientists’ attention but "Zhurnal Dlya Aktsionerov" still remains unnoticed by the researchers and was only causally mentioned in scientific works, though this very newspaper launched his career as a publisher. Besides, "Zhurnal Dlya Aktsionerov" was the first one among economical journals the issue of which falls on the period of 1857-1865, the period of capitalism formation in Russia. According to the author, "Zhurnal Dlya Aktsionerov" published in 1857-1860 laid the foundation for "Birzhevye Vedomosti". The article for the first time describes in detail Trubnikov’s efforts to issue the newspaper. Special attention is paid to programs and purposes of both editions, description of their sections and subscription prices.
