Abstract. The article deals with the comparative analysis of frequency of using the English borrowings in the German and the Russian press in various fields: politics, technology, culture, sport and economics. As a result of the study, an average number of Anglicisms used in the language of the press is calculated. It is also stated that the English borrowings are identified in the German and Russian languages to a different extent and with different frequency. The paper reveals both similarities and differences in their use.
