THE TRAGEDIES OF W. SHAKESPEARE IN MODERN FILM ADAPTATION ("ROMEO AND JULIET", "HAMLET", "MACBETH")

Abstract. The article is devoted to the topical problem of the existence of classical literature works, in this case the tragedies of W. Shakespeare, in modern film adaptations. Modern film adaptation is the adaptation of the work with the transfer of action to the present. The study has an interdisciplinary character and is written at the junction of literary criticism, art criticism and cultural studies. Special attention is paid to the interaction of the classical text with the realias which its modern film adaptation combines with. The paper reveals the main features of film adaptation as a form of literary text existence.
