THE IMAGE OF THE VILLAGE IN STORIES BY O. M. KUVAEV

Abstract. The article examines the image of the village in two stories by the famous Russian prose writer of the second half of the ХХ century O. M. Kuvaev. The description of the specific features of Kuvaev’s village is given. The function of the image in revealing the idea content of the work is noted. The paper singles out a special way of realizing the image of the village - through the image of a peasant house. The conclusion is made that the interpretation of the image of the village and its inhabitants is similar to that of Kuvaev and the representatives of rural prose of the 1960s-70s. The author compares the image of the village of Kuvaev’s stories with similar images of his stories close to the period of writing.
