ANALYSIS OF THE SEMANTIC FIELD OF THE CULINARY VERBS "TO FRY / ?" IN THE RUSSIAN AND CHINESE LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article discusses the semantic field "to fry / ?". The comparative analysis of the basic meanings of this field indicated that semantic fields of the Russian and Chinese culinary verbs "to fry / ?" generally coincide. Semantic field of the Russian culinary verb is much broader than the Chinese one; linguistic lacunas exist in Russian and Chinese. The research findings can serve as empirical data when solving theoretical problems of identifying semantic components of verb meanings, forming the system of meanings, formulating identifiers for their lexicographical description. The research materials and results can be used when teaching Chinese or Russian to foreigners, when compiling Russian-Chinese dictionary.
