Abstract. The article studies the phonetic features of the regional Irish dialect. Particular attention is focused on the analysis of the differences in pronunciation of vowels and consonant sounds between the Irish version of the English language and the British standard. The work identifies a number of differences that linguists, interpreters, and tourists should take into account in order to avoid communicative failures in situations of socially significant interaction.
