Abstract. In the article the research of the historiosophy of Adyghe (Kabardian) poetry is conducted for the first time by the example of the analysis of the diary novel "White Gold and Coal" by Khabas Beshtokov. The authors focus on the artistic understandding of a specific historical epoch - the period of the Caucasian War and the eviction of the Adyghe people. The motifs of Kh. Beshtokov’s poetic reflection on the theme of the historical memory of the people are studied. The main result of the presented research is the identification of the dominating motifs and symbols of the poetry about the Caucasian war, in particular, in the analyzed diary novel.
