ARTISTIC CHELYABINSK. THE CITY IMAGE IN RUSSIAN LITERATURE

Abstract. In the article the observations of the transformation of the image of Chelyabinsk in the heritage of the Russian writers, among them in the works of D. N. Mamin-Sibiryak, A. I. Pristavkin, A. Solzhenitsyn and other authors, are presented. The research is based on material covering a vast period of time: from the sharply negative characteristics inherent in the first mentions of the city, to the glorification of the hero city peculiar to the Soviet period of literature development, and the subsequent sharp change in the paradigms that occurred in the 1990s and influenced the formation of the image of the city-deadlock.
