THE SPECIFICITY OF SEMANTIC CONTENT OF INDEFINITE PRONOUNS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN FICTION AND PUBLICISTIC TEXTS

Abstract. The article deals with the specificity of the semantic content of indefinite pronouns of the English language in contemporary fiction and publicistic texts, which manifests itself in the explication of the conditional absence of something or someone. The authors conclude that this phenomenon is associated with the peculiarity of the status of the indefinite pronouns, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, with the philosophical interpretation of the understanding of absence, emptiness as an element of being/non-being dichotomy. In addition to the above-mentioned reasons for the manifestation of such semantics, the assumption about further development tendency of indefinite pronouns of the English language is made.
