WORD FORMATION OF ORDINAL NUMBERS IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE FOREST YUKAGHIR PEOPLE

Abstract. The article deals with the word formation of ordinal numbers in the language of the Forest Yukaghirs in comparison with the language of the Tundra Yukaghirs. The peculiarities of the formation of ordinal numbers are revealed by the linguistic material. The author presents both known and some new facts about their formation and use. It is shown that in the modern language of the Forest Yukaghirs the word irkieshte ‘the first’ formed from the cardinal number irkiei (one-is), and the repetitive form of the ordinal numbers on = shtuol (how many times) are functioning.
