TENSE-ASPECT PARTICLE ? IN THE MODERN CHINESE LANGUAGE

Abstract. This article discusses the functional word ?, which is included in the class of the tense-aspect particles of the modern Chinese language. The particle ? is used to refer to a certain stage in the development of an action and state. It indicates the long nature of the action, the fact that the action lasts, continues. In addition, it is used to denote a static state; it can be used in sentences of possession, forming a notional verb, etc. The article describes the main methods and rules of the particle functioning, its meanings and the cases when the particle cannot be used.
