THEMATIC GROUPS OF THE CRIMEAN TOPONYMS: THE PECULIARITIES OF ORIGIN

Abstract. This article discusses the peculiarities of the Crimean toponyms origin, including the process of borrowing, which is a universal linguistic phenomenon, typical of every language. The paper presents the analysis of the thematic groups of toponymic vocabulary, namely, the placenames, hydronyms and oronyms of the Crimea, which results in the identification of differences in the origin of the units under study.
