HIGHLIGHTING THE SPECIFICITY OF THE ACT OF APPROVAL AMONG EVALUATIVE SPEECH ACTS

Abstract. This article raises some questions of the modern pragmatics. Evaluative speech acts often have similar structure and adjacent functions, causing considerable difficulties for the differentiation of the functions of the acts of approval, praise, flattery, encouragement and compliment. The author analyzed the speech acts of approval in the Tatar, Turkish and English languages and once again determined the need for a comprehensive approach to this issue.
