VARIATION OF TRANSMISSION OF COMIC IN THE INTERPRETATION OF THE ENGLISH POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. Humor is an integral part of the oratorical speech in the English culture, and political discourse has brought to life an independent direction - political linguistics. The object of this study is the interpretation of the political discourse, and the immediate subject of the study is the comic inclusions. The task of the paper is to identify the specificity of the modification of comic effect in the course of consecutive interpretation. Specificity of interpreting comic fragments consists not only in transmission of a joke as such, but also in the indication for a recipient of the locus of the joke and in the explanation of why the joke would be considered funny.
