MINIATURE GENRE IN THE RUSSIAN LITERATURE OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines certain peculiarities of miniature genre and concludes that miniatures integrate the lyrical and epic elements. The paper traces I. S. Turgenev’s and I. A. Bunin’s traditions in the miniatures of the subsequent decades, analyzes the various forms to express author’s consciousness which predetermine the difference of spatio-temporal coordinates. The researcher addresses the miniature cyclization problem and concludes that a miniature is an element of certain integrity and exists autonomously.
