NATURALISTIC RECONSIDERATION OF HUMBOLDT’S VIEWS ON THE LANGUAGE ESSENCE BY A. SCHLEICHER, A. HOVELAQUE AND M. M?LLER

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of naturalistic views of Wilhelm von Humboldt on language from the position of linguistic naturalism, peculiar to August Schleicher, Friedrich Max M?ller and Abel Hovelaque. The following questions are analyzed: the concept of language, the essence of language, the connection of language and race, the problem of language as a live organism, the connection of language and thinking. The similarities and differences of the views by Wilhelm von Humboldt, August Schleicher, Friedrich Max M?ller and Abel Hovelaque on the above mentioned problems are revealed.
