Abstract. The article deals with the contexts of simultaneous mentioning of symbols NIGHT and DAY in Russian rock poetry. As a result of the analysis the author reveals two types of mutual semantization of symbols: the convergence of semantics through the syntactic constructions and contextual synonyms of the same type and the opposition through the ascertaining of unnaturalness of identification, the use of contextual antonyms and conversives, the statement of replacement, the ability of the night to cancel the results of the day.
