LITERARY AND ARTISTIC DISPUTE ON BLINDNESS BETWEEN M. A. OSORGIN AND V. G. KOROLENKO

Abstract. The article analyzes literary and artistic dispute between the writers of the beginning of the XX century V. G. Korolenko (story "The Blind Musician") and M. A. Osorgin (story "Blind from Birth"). Sighted writers try to interpret artistically such deficiency as blindness. Korolenko emphasizes the fact that the blind hero in his story, perceiving only sounds, always aspired to light in his heart. As for Osorgin, he claims in his work that the blind sees the world differently than the sighted who feels no discomfort about that.
