Abstract. The article examines the specificity of colour nomination in the Even language. The concept COLOUR has a key meaning in revealing the mentality of the Even people and is a fragment of their linguistic picture of the world. It expresses relations of a man and surrounding reality. Even colour nominations demonstrate connection with nature. It is perceived by the Evens in the form of images and is realized with the help of linguistic means.
