LEXICAL MEANING OF A WORD AND ITS COMPONENTS (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE KARACHAY-BALKAR LANGUAGE)

Abstract. This article raises a problem of the lexical meaning of a word and semantics of its components, the correlation of words with certain notions. For the first time by the material of the Karachay-Balkar language this correlation is considered as one of the main features of the semantic structure of the word, which includes an emotional-expressive evaluation. The author determines the role of the components of the contents of the word in its functioning taking into account the primary and secondary meanings. Special attention is paid to the core of the lexical meaning of the word - its significative component that is closely associated with the phenomena of denotation and connotation, and to their various kinds.
