Abstract. The article deals with the general ideas of ??an emerging scientific discipline - linguistic hermeneutics appeared under the strong influence of philosophy of language, linguistics and hermeneutics. The common and specific features of this influence are studied and it is noted that the analyzed scientific discourse has a theoretical independence. On the basis of the study of methodological model of text communication the connections determining the efficiency of forming and conveying the text meaning are analyzed. The author considers the cognitive possibilities of methods of argumentation of linguistic hermeneutics based on the research of the interrelation between meaning and reasoning. By means of correlation of argumentativeness with convincingness - the main characteristics of argumentation, the specificity of four variants of meaning representation in speech activity is researched.
