Abstract. The article deals with the specificity of teaching a foreign language in accordance with new educational standards. In this connection, the necessity of the level organization of the classroom and extracurricular work of students in the conditions of the competence-based approach is grounded. The authors propose a system of tasks in a foreign language developed within the framework of the considered approach.
