REMOTIVATION OF INTERNAL FORM OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS AS ONE OF THE TYPES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL CREATIVITY

Abstract. The article deals with one of the types of the creative transformation of phraseological units - remotivation consisting in playing up the literal meaning of the phrase, which has become a basis of the phraseological unit, and the idiomatic meaning that this phrase has obtained as a result of reinterpretation. The object of the research is 150 contexts of the author’s individual transformation of phraseological units in each of the XVIII and XX centuries. Particular attention is drawn to the fact that remotivation is included in the process of language development as one of its stages, which explains difference in the quantitative indicators of remotivated phraseological units.
