Abstract. The article gives a comprehensive analysis of the definitions of the cosmonyms sun, moon, crescent in the scientific, linguistic, mythological and symbolic aspects. The author also uses the frequency parameter when studying cosmonyms: the statistics of the use of a particular cosmonym in the text of fairy tales reveals the semantic accent, the priority of one cosmonym to others.
