PECULIARITIES OF EPITHETS FUNCTIONING IN KARACHAY-BALKAR TALES ABOUT ANIMALS

Abstract. In this article the author pays special attention to such stylistic means as the epithet. The paper summarizes new material on the subject under study, archival texts are introduced into scientific use. The aim of the article is the research of epithets functioning in Karachay-Balkar tales about animals. The study focuses on the epithets of typifying-idealizing nature, as well as on national poetic (permanent) epithets. The latter enable to make the used words and expressions more beautiful thus determining the nature and expressive potential of different characters of fairy tales about animals.
