SENSE-FORMING FUNCTION OF THE ENDING OF ENGLISH MODERNIST STORY

Abstract. This article discusses the structural peculiarities of the English modernist story from the point of view of philosophy, stylistics, literary criticism, hermeneutics and psycholinguistics. The author emphasizes the interdependence of literary school and literary form. Particular attention is paid to the specificity of the ending of the modernist story and its sense-forming significance in the framework of "the game poetics" of modernism is proved.
