LEXICO-SEMANTIC FIELD "WEDDING" IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE MODERN ENGLISH FICTION (BY THE MATERIAL OF S. KINSELLA’S NOVEL "SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT")

Abstract. The article presents the results of the study of the semantics and functioning of the units of the lexico-semantic field "wedding" on the basis of the textocentric method: the composition and volume of the lexico-semantic field are determined, the classification of the units of the field in terms of their belonging to the core and the periphery is proposed, the peculiarities of the meanings of the lexemes belonging to different lexico-semantic groups of the field are analyzed, the comparative analysis of this field and the lexico-semantic field "svad'ba" in the text of the translation into Russian is carried out.
