ABOUT PLOT-COMPOSITION REPETITION IN A. P. CHEKHOV’S PROSE

Abstract. In A. P. Chekhov’s studies scientists repeatedly expressed an idea that Chekhov’s poetics has various types of repetitions, which play an important aesthetic role. In this article the focus is on one of the little-known types of repetitions - a plot-composition one. In the first part of the paper on the basis of V. Prop’s theory about "cumulative tale" the author analyzes the intratextual repetition of this type in A. P. Chekhov’s early stories and the second part is devoted to the intertextual subtype in the writer’s "stories of discovery".
