GERMAN WORLD OF THE VOLGA: IMAGE OF SAREPTA IN "A JOURNEY TO THE MIDDAY RUSSIA" BY V. IZMAILOV

Abstract. The article analyzes the image of German Sarepta in "A Journey to the Midday Russia" by Vladimir Izmailov, with which the search for the ideal structure of the society and a happy man is associated. In the traditions of sentimentalism the writer sees in the life of the German Herrnhuters the harmonious combination of naturalness and culture, the habit of physical labor with spiritual and moral beginning, the life of the heart, as well as the embodiment in the reality of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s pedagogical ideas.
