TYPOLOGY OF LANGUAGE MEANS OF THE MODELING OF CHARACTERS’ SOCIAL SELF-IDENTIFICATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH PROSE OF THE XX CENTURY)

Abstract. The article proposes a typology of language means of the modeling of characters’ social self-identification, based on the typology of the means of human self-identification in real communication. Literary text is understood here as a secondary modeling system, the author of which reproduces the reality in a general way. The author of the article singles out verbal (explicit and implicit) and non-verbal means of characters’ social self-identification. The research involves the data of sociolinguistics and lexical semantics.
